Holiday Smokey Eye Palette

I am always on the lookout for good beauty products that have reasonable price points, so when I was sent this Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye Palette in the mail via Brandbacker, I was eager to test it out. This past weekend N + I attended a Holiday Christmas Party fundraiser for Toys for Tots and while getting ready I remembered that I had just received this eye palette & decided to give it a whirl. The palette is no bigger then my palm & can easily be thrown in my purse for on-the-go capability. Inside of the front cover are easy to follow instructions to help master your desired smokey eye + winter cheek look. There are a total of four different shadows + large blush in the center. The shadow colors all have a slight shimmer to them, which include a white, black, silver and bronzy gold. The only downfall in my opinion about the shadow colors is that there was no matte shadow. When applying the shadows look that night, I had no trouble following the simple instructions and ended up with a beautiful smokey eye look, perfect for an evening out. I didn't get any outfit shots the night of the party, but hope to share a look or two here soon! Overall, I was pretty happy with this $40 eye palette. Some of the downfalls that I feel are worth mentioning, is that there were no matte shades, the colors are not perfect for every complexion, and you can't purchase the shades individually. Studio Gear cosmetics can also be found in the beauty departments of Bloomingdales, Macy's, Dillard's and ULTABut, if you are interested in purchasing the Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye Palette use code SGHOLIDAY for 10% off your order.

**Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Studio Gear provided me with product and this review is solely my own opinion. I would never support a brand I didn’t actually love, and I thank you for supporting the brands that make Let It Be Beautiful what it is!

Teddy Cosmetics Giveaway (CLOSED)

I haven't always been a lip color girl, but recently (meaning the last few months) I have decided to come out of my shell a little bit. More times then not I tend to grab neutral lip shades + glosses, only because going to work with a bright lip is def out of my comfort zone atm. Not too long ago, I was sent my new favorite lip shade (ever), the Berry Bombshell color balm. This color stick from Teddy Cosmetics is literally the & let me tell you why. First off, it goes on so unbelievably smooth + moisturizing & 2nd, it stays on. There is no need to keep reapplying, which can always be a huge pain in the butt.

Now let me tell you a little bit about Teddy Cosmetics! The new + upcoming company focuses on the health of your skin with high quality makeup! Their products are infused with natural ingredients that help retain moisture. & on top of that they provide beautiful all-natural shades of color that compliment ALL skin tones.

SIDE NOTE: I was sent various shades of color balm from Teddy Cosmetics & was asked to do a review. Even with compensation all opinions are my own & I truly support this new up & coming cosmetics company.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure at getting my hair done at Salon 46, a salon located in Old Town Alexandria. I was a little nervous when I got contacted to be apart of their 1 Year Anniversary Celebration, what will be taking place tonight from 7-9 PM at Salon 46. Previously, I have had terrible experiences getting my hair done by a salon whom I have never been too or one that I was not referred too. I decided to do a little research into the salon - its location, stylists, & their clientele. Much to my surprise, I found nothing but wonder things, so I decided to give it a whirl.

When I arrived to Salon 46 (a little early), I was greeted by their wonderful receptionist & offered a beverage while I waited for Crystal, my stylist that day. It didn't take long before Crystal introduced herself to me & we were on our way to discussing what changes I wanted to make to my hair. Going into that appointment, I already knew that I was eager to make drastic changes to my hair - meaning I wanted to be just like Julianne Hough (my girl crush!). I showed Crystal some pictures, hair styles & previous hair cuts that I have had in the past & she quickly gave me her kind + helpful opinion on what she felt would be a good hair style for me & honestly, I was right on board. Shortly after, the process began!

An hour or so later, Crystal was done foiling my hair & she had me sit under the heater. She then washed my hair & used a toner to help get the desired color I was wanting (no reds or golden blonde).

Next step, the cut! I was SO unbelievably nervous, but she did nothing but reassure me through the entire process that I was making the right decision. 8 inches later, I had beautiful short blonde hair (eeek!). During the cutting process, she explained what she was doing + why. I learned why stylists dry cut verse wet cut & it is to get a more natural cut, since your hair does change length + texture between the two.

After that she blow dried + styled my hair. She showed me how to style my hair at home & before each + every product she used, she explained why it was important. Salon 46 exclusively uses Bumble + Bumble products, which I like since you aren't torn between a lot of different shampoos, conditioners & styling products. By the end of the afternoon, I understand what products I wanted to go home with + which ones I could wait to purchase at a different time.

Tonight Salon 46 is celebrating their One Year Anniversary at their salon in Old Town Alexandria. The evening will be a celebration of beauty and style over delicious drinks and bites & YOU are invited to join, just RSVP to Hope to see you there! xo
