Get The Look: Minimalistic Nude

image.jpg

Saturday was the Spring Beauty Trend Show at Nordstrom Pentagon City & it is one of my favorite events. This year's outfit was paired with a minimalistic nude face, which I am all about this Spring. I started with one of my favorite hydrating foundations, the Bareminerals Complexion Rescue. I then contoured and highlighted my cheek bones with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow, which is absolutely amazing BTW. I then added a bit pink to my cheeks with the new dual intensity NARS blush & finished it off with a nude lip using the nude Estee Lauder Color Envy lipstick & Mary Kay gloss*. & last but not least I spritz my new Jo Malone Sakura Cherry Blossom perfume before heading out the door. This look was perfect for the Trend Show since they highlighted that this year's trends is all about the Nude Face, Bright Lip & Contoured Cheek. Are you a fan of the minimalistic nude look? Share in the comments!

5 Must Try Mascaras: Part 2

5 Must Try Mascaras: Part 2

If you are a regular reader of my blog, by now you know that I love mascara. I mean LOVE mascara. I own way too many & swap them out on a daily basis. & 99.9% of the time I don't leave the house with bare lashes. To me mascara is essential (besides my brows) to making or breaking an entire look so I have rounded up more of my favorite must-try mascaras of 2015, so far! If you missed last years favorites you can check them out here. & please tell me in the comments what your favorite mascaras are?

Too Faced Better Than Sex: This hour-glasses shaped brush works wonders on your lashes. Its intense black formula creates long fluttery lashes with extra volume. The brush helps separate your lashes to avoid clumping, but still gives you a dramatic look. One of my favorites mascara's I own.

Maybelline Full n' Soft Waterproof: If you are looking for super long, soft fluttery lashes then this mascara is for you. When I am going for a more subtle less dramatic eye, I grab this mascara. I do have to apply a few coats to get the color I am going for, but it could just be because I love full lashes & I think its weird when my lashes are soft & fluttery.

Lacome Grandiose: AUHMAZING. I don't ever want to live without this incredible mascara. The shape of this mascara wand is one of a kind & makes applying your mascara 110% easier. Grandiose helps lengthen, volumize & brighten my eyes. This has been my go-to mascara lately & I get compliments pretty much every single time I use this mascara. A must try!

Diorshow Extase: If you want to plump yo' lashes up this mascara is the jam. You only really need ONE coat of mascara and you get gorgeous voluminous lashes that look like falsies. Extase can easily be removed with eye makeup remover.

Stila MAJOR Major*: I have never tried Stila mascara until recently & I am loving it so far. It helps define my lashes while creating great volume without the flaking. Also, I am able to reach the small lashes in the crease of my eye with the tapered brush.

Diorshow Maximizer Primer: This stuff is LEGENDARY! I swear by it & use is EVERY SINGLE DAY. It helps protect, lengthen & plump my lashes so that I don't need an extra coat of mascara. By far a classic in my makeup stash. If you haven't tried it, you need too. Just sayin'

Amazing Must Try Mascaras

Beautiful & Bold Drug Store Haul

Beautiful & Bold is kinda the opposite of what this years Spring Beauty Trends are all about. Even though Runaways are mastering the art of a subtle nude face, I am still drawn to beautiful blushes, bright nail polishes & bold lipsticks. Below are some of my favorites that are all drug store buys:

Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick 'Rose Rush': This bold, red lipstick was given to me for Valentine's Day & it is one of my current favorite lip shades so far this Spring! This highly moisturizing lipstick provides the perfect amount of color & looks great with my skin tone. I plan on grabbing a few more like blushing bud, lilac flush + peach poppy

Essie Flowerista*: This years Spring collection is the best of both worlds, a few bold shades & a few subtle nude shades. This poppy purple immediately caught my eye when I spotted it online. I find that Essie polishes are easy to apply & last a lot longer then other polishes. I can't wait to rock this fun hue all Spring long.

Milani Rose Powder Blush 'Coral Cove': One thing that I love about this blush is the gorgeous packaging. Second, the color is even prettier on the cheeks. When applying you don't need much & this super blendable blush offers a soft, bold finish that helps contour & highlight with the right amount of color.

Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush: This cream blush was mentioned in my February Favorites & it really is a favorite of mine. The super light weight formula offers the perfect dewy flush of color to my cheek bones that I love during the Spring.

What are some of your current drug store favorites? I am always looking to try out new products!
