When I throw on a pair of Keds, I feel like a kid again & who doesn't like feeling young again? Growing up, I was always the girl that sported the Keds at school, but I will tell you that I certainly didn't rock Keds like these. Keds has come a long way by designing styles that are trendy, fun & super comfy.
Not only are Keds trendy, they also have an awesome program they are apart of called the Keds' Brave Life Project. The Brave Life Project launched early this year, which is a pioneering new program created in partnership with the internationally recognized nonprofit, Girls Leadership Institute. This project helps create programs for young women to become more authentic, assertive & brave. The different programs open up oppurtunities to allow young women to take more positive risks, develop the confidence to be true to themselves & build supportive networks. Doesn't that sound incredible?
On August 15th, 2014, the Brave Life Summit will take place in New York City, where 150 girls from around the country will join Keds, Seventeen Magazine & the Girls Leadership Institute to teach girls how to be brave. Currently, 50 girls between the ages of 18-24 have the opportunity to enter to win a $1,000 grant to attend the Keds' Brave Life Summit in NYC in August. Each grant provides up to $1,000 to cover the costs of transportation for grantees including round trip airfare to and from New York City from their nearest airport and a one night stay at a nearby hotel.
Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Keds, but as always all opinion are my own. Thanks for supporting the brands that make Let It Beautiful shine.
