Hello Thursday! & Hello to another Coffee Talk. Let's get to it!
THANKFUL FOR: Days when I don't feel myself or put together I grab my boldest + brightest lip color and that tends to do the trick. It's amazing how a little pop of color can transform a pair of sweat pants, oversize tee & messy hair into a whole new level of fancy. & yes somedays I just need to feel snazzy. So bold bright lips it is.
THINKING ABOUT: Every once in a while I get to thinking about why exactly I blog & if I am doing it for the right reasons. So often we get tangled up in the idea of wanting to be like everyone else or want what everyone else has or is achieving & we tend to lose sight of what we actually started doing something for. I remember when I started grad school I knew I needed something that would keep my creativity juices flowing & to keep track of my journey. I had no idea where this lil' ol blog was going to take me, but it has been such a blessing. I wouldn't have met my best friend, Faith. I wouldn't have had a way to pay my bills while trying to studying for my boards. I wouldn't have learned who I am and what my goals are. I don't think I would be who I am today if I didn't start this blog. It truly has been such a blessing, but every now and then I take a step back to re-evalutate my intentions & make sure I am still on the right track. You got me?
FEELING: I am heading to Albany, NY tomorrow for 9 days & I am not looking forwarding to packing. I honestly LOATHE packing. I think it is the worst thing in the world to have to pack everything you want to take with you for a trip in a little ol' bag. I mean, why can't I just transport it to where it needs to go without even thinking about it. A girl can dream right?
LISTENING TO: I use to listen to the M83 pandora radio station on repeat when I was in grad school. This song is a classic.
WATCHING: Warning: You will need a box of tissues.
EATING: This morning I had McD's. Not he healthiest choice, but when N came in the room this morning and asked if I wanted hot McD's breakfast I certainly couldn't turn it down. Now I am basking in a food coma. No judging now.
READING: I am still getting my daily laugh reading Amy Poehler's book, Yes Please. Favorite quote so far:
"You have to care about how good you are and how good you feel, but not about how good people think you are or how good people think you look."
LOVING: One of my favorite days of the year is Valentine's Day. One its my half birthday (ha!) + two it's the international day of love. Just because it has the word 'love' in it, doesn't mean you have to be in a relationship with someone to celebrate it. I love the fact that you can celebrate love with your family, best friends or even your puppy. I think it's great to have one day a year that is dedicated to showing someone how much you love them, but that also doesn't mean that you should slack the other 364 days. Do you do anything special for your friends & family for Valentine's Day?
