September's round-up of beauty favorites is slightly biased, as I have an infatuation with everything NARS at the moment. Also, I have decided that shimmer in some fashion is necessary on a daily basis & finding the perfect eyeliner makes practicing my eye-liner application skills bearable (still in need of some work!). Oh, & I decided it is ok to take extra time getting ready in the morning to put on eyeshadow, because it makes all the difference. Check out September's beauty favorites below & be sure to share yours in the comments!
Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo 'Moonlight' • If contouring & highlighting isn't your thing then you are seriously missing out. Learning how to correctly contour + highlight can change your entire look ... in a second. This palette is perfect for getting the most flattering types of natural light on the skin. These offer the most luminous glow to the skin that makes you feel like you just got an au natural sun kissed tan. I apply the darker shade to my jaw-line & the lighter shade to my cheek bones & nose & blend. A new favorite for sure!
NARS Blush 'Madly' • This warm toned matte blush is gorgeous for every skin tone & offers the most natural peachy-tan flush of color to the cheek bones, with a hint of shimmer. I have used this blush as a bronzer, and find it to be easily buildable and very pigmented.
NARS 'Yachiyo' Kabuki Brush • This brush is magical. I use it to apply blush, highlighter, or even shadow around the cheek + eye area. It is an every day brush & requires a lot less cleaning then my other less expensive brushes.
NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow 'Telesto' • The concept behind the dual-intensity shadows is so good. This shadow can be applied either wet or dry, or both. Depending on what kind of look you are going for, apply dry if you want a soft subtle eye or apply wet is you want a darker more intense eye. This golden hued shadow is perfect for a day at work or for a night out on the town.
NARS Duo Eyeshadow 'All About Eve'* • This neutral eye shadow duo is absolutely gorgeous. One is matte & the other offers a subtle shimmer. When I want just a simplistic neutral eye I have been grabbing this duo. I tend to pair it with a bold dramatic lip color.
NARS Eyeliner Stylo 'Carpates' • I rarely put eyeliner on, but since I picked up this eyeliner from Sephora a couple weeks back I can't leave the house without it. Now, I am no pro at putting on eyeliner ... actually I straight up suck. But I figured I might as well practice in order to perfect this skill. I love how easy this liner glides on & how well-put it stays even after a long day.
NARS Velvet Shadow Stick 'Oaxaca'* • Eyeshadow sticks are the next best thing since sliced bread ... they make putting on eyeshadow a piece of cake! This gorgeous golden color is the perfect base or you can wear it alone. It is great to have while on the go & easy to throw into your makeup bag. Another plus is it has great pigmentation & staying power.
M•A•C 'Extended Play Gigablack Lash' Mascara • Not sure how I lived without this amazing mascara. I use it mainly for my lower lash since the small brush makes it easy to apply, but another plus is it is waterproof. I use to never wear waterproof mascaras but recently that is all I wear. What I love most is that this waterproof mascara is that it doesn't take an entire bottle of eye makeup remover to get it off.
YSL 'Rouge Volupté' Lipstick '#001 Nude Beige' • YSL lipsticks go on incredibly smooth & when Faith told me about this gorgeous shade I knew I had to have it. It is the perfect pinky nude & pairs great with a bold liner underneath, like this one from M•A•C.
Eternally in Amber Wide Tooth 'Tortoise' Comb • Sometimes I just want a pretty comb to brush my hair when I get out of the shower & this comb is just that. There is nothing special about it, except that it is pretty :)
