Radiant Sun-Kissed Skin

The weather here in DC is hot hot hot & there is nothing better then having the perfect sun-kissed skin to wear with your sun-dresses, skirts & shorts. & unlike my younger years, I am all about getting a healthy glow the right way. So I have rounded up some of my favorite must-have products that I have quickly fallen in love with over the past several months.

How To Get A Fake Summer Tan, Radiant Summer Glow

Back in April I was introduced to the St. Tropez bronzing mousse at the Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show & was immediately intrigued. I decided it was time to pick up some a couple weeks ago long with the mitt & give it a shot. Often, I am weary of trying new products out that can stain my skin, because I don't want to be stuck with a bad tan - streaky, orange & smelly, but this product is anything but that.

St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse : When I got some, I immediately hopped in the shower & exfoliated my hands, elbows, knees & ankles to makes sure that there was no dry skin that could absorb extra color. I made sure my legs were freshly shaved as well so that the application process was even easier. I typically apply the mousse the same way every time to ensure that I don't miss any areas. I start with two pumps on the mitt & apply the mousse to my right leg and repeat with my left leg. I make sure to get the back of my legs, behind my knees & on my hip bones. I then use three pumps for application to my torso, chest & neck. When applying to my arms I make sure to pay close attention to my elbows & wrists, as these spots absorb color very easily. After the full application, I take the mitt & apply the extra color to the top of my wrist/hands & feet. After I am done, I make sure to wash my hands well to ensure that there is no over-absorbing of color. I typically apply the mousse at night when I am about to go to bed, but I have actually applied it in the middle of the day as well & noticed that there was no transfer of color to my clothes or sheets. After about 8-12 hours, I shower like normal & the excess color rinses off in the shower super easily. I tend to do multiple days of application in a row to help increase the color depth. Another one of my favorite things about this product is that fact that it doesn't smell like your normal tanning lotion. Even N didn't notice that I was wearing anything & he always knows when I have applied tanning lotion in the past. Def. worth the investment!

St. Tropez Gradual Tan + Anti-Anging for the Face : This product I just picked up with Faith over the weekend & so far I am loving it. I apply it like I would any of my other moisturizers & make sure to wash my hands when I am done. I have worn it three days in a row & `have noticed a nice gradual tan that isn't overly dark. There is no smell & it is super hydrating.

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel : I had been dying to get my hands on this product for ages & finally snagged some a couple months ago. I AM OBSESSED! This product is a cream formula that is super smooth with application. I tend to use a blendable makeup brush to apply underneath my primary coverage that I am wearing that day to help give an airbrushed look. I was worried that the product could be a little too orange for my skin, but it isn't at all. The color blends flawlessly offering a subtle bronzed glow that gives my skin a healthy summer look. Def a keeper in my book.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelee* : This pretty shimmery palette is just as beautiful in the pan as it is on the skin. It is perfect for adding a hint of extra luminous glow to your cheek bones or décolletage. Application is smooth, isn't orange & is an extra bonus to my makeup bag. If you have had your eye on it, you should grab one before they are all gone!

Tom Ford Shimmering Body Oil* : I have to admit I am not a huge fan of body oils. I can't stand that feeling of applying it to your skin & feeling slick + greasy afterwards. This body oil is different & I am so glad that I gave it a shot because I have been hooked since it arrived in the mail. I tend to apply this little extra to my décolletage for a night out with my girls or after a relaxing shower/bath to make me feel extra radiant. It smells like summer, the oil doesn't linger on your skin & is the perfect addition for that extra glow.

Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Defense SPF 30* : If you follow my on instagram you may have noticed this sunscreen in a number of posts & that's because it has been on repeat! What I love most about this sunscreen is that is isn't greasy or sticky, offers a UV protection & anti-aging properties that are ideal for anyone's sun-exposed skin. An extra bonus.. there is a bit of shimmer that glistens after application!
