The Routine: Morning Makeup

The Morning Makeup Routine

I love picking up new beauty products. It is probably one the most exciting things ever. I even have to convince myself during the week that "I do NOT have to go to Sephora." Trust me, this repeats in my head daily ha! Getting new products makes getting ready in the morning a little bit more bearable since it gives me a reason to try out new stuff. I tend to keep my morning routine pretty simple for times sake, but am always adding + subtracting products on a daily basis. The product that I swap out the most is my foundation - I use whatever I feel like my skin needs on that specific morning. The Chanel CC cream is by far one of my favorite products I have ever purchased to date and use it on a frequent basis, but have also recently fallen in love with the IT Cosmetics CC cream*. The IT Cosmetics CC cream is incredible & deserves a review which will be up on the blog soon.

After my foundation is in place I focus on my under eyes which I feel are pretty important. The IT Cosmetics bye bye under eye concealer* is AUHMAZING. A little bit goes a long way & it lasts all day long.

Adding a bit of a highlight to my cheeks with the IT Cosmetics powder brush* is key to adding dimension to any look. Most mornings I add some color to my cheeks first but it's been so hot lately that the less makeup the better I feel. The BECCA x Jaclyn Hill highlighter in Champagne pop is EVERYTHING you could ever want in a highlighter. Get it if you don't have it already. You won't regret it.

After the cheeks are done I come back to the undereye and add the BECCA under eye brightening corrector. This cream has a pinky hue that helps cover up even more of the dark circles but brightens at the same time. Truly a new favorite edition to the makeup bag.

Last but not least is the lashes + brows. Not pictured is my eye lash curler that I use every morning followed by my DIOR primer (don't leave the house without it!). This Michelle Phan mascara has been on constant rotation lately along with my Lancôme Grandiose mascara that is probably my #1 used mascara. The Michelle Phan mascara has great staying power and builds the lashes with a good amount of volume.

Adding color to my lips is one of those things I forget about ALL the time. Mainly because I am always in a rush. I typically have a little bag of my favorite lip products in my work bag + will grab one & throw it on while I'm on the metro. This Buxom lipstick in nude has been used a lot recently.

Hope this gives you a little insight on my current morning makeup routine. What are some of your favorite products to use in the morning? Share below.
